Our Home for June

Hey everyone!

Here's the latest from LDO - our "home" - the guesthouse - is built!  We are very thankful to Lance and his team in Kisii for doing this awesome project.  It saves the team a lot of money by not having to pay for hotel expenses, and also prayerfully is a blessing to the children as we will always be "with them" for the entire month.  It will also give the team a REAL taste of life at the orphanage!

The frame of the house.  Note the water tank on the left.
Concrete.  Nice to see that the house is "sealed" - to prevent mice, mosquitoes, or any other undesirables to come in during the night.

Pretty much finished!  With the siding added.  This type of construction is typical in Nicaragua, a country that Alex visited in 2007.  Since the weather is always nice, one does not have to invest so much in thick walls or insulation.

Fundraising Update:

We've raised around $3,500 for the fund that will be used directly for orphans' needs!  We still need $1,500 to complete the fundraising goal.  We are very thankful for everyone who donated, and praise God for touching those who have given.  To donate and help us to reach that goal, go to www.odeafo.com and click on "Donate!"

Team Update:

The team is doing great.  We have one major announcement, but want to wait a little before making that one.  We are still having our ODO meetings and this weekend, Kat Roberts-Jarashow will be in town!  We are very excited to meet her and for her to meet the rest of the team.  We all either have or will get our vaccinations very soon.  All the other things/details are going smoothly.

That's all for now!  Please keep on praying for us, as there is ONE more month left.
